Construction pits

M.J. Eriksson can establish construction pits and install retaining walls for all types of construction work and building projects throughout Denmark. We handle the entire process, including excavation and groundwater lowering, in order to ensure as few interfaces as possible and a simplified project management process.

Our foundations department has considerable experience in advising clients on the best choice of retaining walls for an optimal solution in relation to the specific situation, and the work entailed in establishing construction pits involves many of our key competencies.

M.J. Eriksson is thus able to execute all types of earthwork, including handling of contaminated soil, pre-drilling, sheet piling and anchoring, groundwater lowering, establishment and operation of the construction site, power supply and lighting, etc.

Construction pits are used in many different scenarios, for example excavations for basements, when replacing soil at great depths up against existing buildings or along roads and railway lines. Retaining walls are most often established as sheet pile walls, king post walls or as a bored/secant pile wall.
