Sustainability is a team effort

Sustainability and the green transition are high on our agenda. With the appointment of a new Sustainability Manager, we are taking a significant step toward embedding these efforts both strategically and in our daily operations. Johnny Damkjær Grenzlikowski has joined M.J. Eriksson as our new Sustainability Manager. He will help guide our approach to working more sustainably across the company.

Johnny says: “Sustainability is a team effort, so collaboration is a cornerstone of the work. That’s why I want to be in close dialogue with our project teams. I’ll be looking at what we can recycle and where the biggest climate impacts are in our value chains. The closer we get to the realities on the ground, the better the solutions we’ll develop.”

CEO Torben Bloch Nielsen adds:
“We have previously focused on CO₂ reduction and material recycling, but with Johnny’s appointment to this newly created position, we are taking an important step in strengthening our efforts. Johnny will be responsible for implementing a new climate accounting system and developing a comprehensive sustainability strategy.”

A key part of Johnny’s role will be to raise awareness and knowledge across the organization, identifying opportunities to reduce climate impact, cut waste, minimize unnecessary transport, and increase material recycling.

Knowledge and integration across the company

Johnny brings valuable experience from FORS A/S, among others, and holds a degree in Sustainable Management. He has worked on strategy development and contributed to drafting EU sustainability documentation requirements.

He concludes: “There are already many great initiatives underway, and at the same time, I see significant potential for further development and focus. It’s crucial to me that our sustainability work is anchored throughout the entire organization. It begins with an ambitious and inclusive sustainability strategy that both the business and employees can embrace—laying a strong foundation for our continued green transition.”
