M.J. Eriksson develops and expands Denmark

M.J. Eriksson is one of Denmark’s largest earthworks and construction contractors. With 75 years of experience in earthworks, infrastructure and building projects, we contribute to the development and expansion of Denmark. We carry out all types of construction tasks within infrastructure, energy and utilities, environment, sewage, construction and renovation, climate adaptation and much more.

We operate nationwide with more than 700 employees, executing both large and small construction projects for both public and private developers under all types of contract models. We work agilely and competently in all earthworks and construction tasks, including port facilities, district heating, railways, tunnelling and climate and stormwater protection. Our large volume and professional thoroughness make us a reliable and trustworthy partner for both public and private developers.

We build Denmark’s motorways

As one of Denmark’s largest construction contractors, M.J. Eriksson has helped expand large parts of the Danish road network over the past 35 years. We undertake all types of road projects as main and turnkey contracts throughout Denmark and southern Sweden. In recent years, M.J. Eriksson has built the Frederikssund Fjord Link, as well as several sections of the Holstebro, Silkeborg and Kalundborg motorways. We have expanded the Funen motorway and the Køge Bay motorway and built the Bering–Beder road south of Aarhus and a new link road near Uhre, close to Vejle.

Denmark’s largest machinery fleet

M.J. Eriksson has Denmark’s largest fleet of machinery, with more than 450 construction machines, ranging from wheel loaders to railway machinery. The extensive fleet makes us an agile and flexible partner, regardless of the project’s size and location.

Giber Ring Road in Aarhus

As the main contractor, we executed the road corridor south of Aarhus, the Giber Ring Road. Here, we established a new 12 km bypass connecting the Østjyske Motorvej in the west with Oddervej in the east.

Railway construction on Lolland

We carried out the major widening of the high-speed railway across Lolland, extending 30 km from one to two tracks, including eight track-bearing wildlife bridges and the development of the new Holeby station.

Widening of the E45 motorway

In May 2024, we won three main contracts for the widening of the E45 motorway from Aarhus S to Aarhus N. We are widening the carriageway from four to six lanes over a 15 km stretch for the Danish Road Directorate. Our work includes earthworks, drainage, paving, equipment installations, property demolitions, traffic management and bridges.
