Microtunnelling

One of our strongest competencies is performing microtunnelling for pipeline installations, such as drainage and utility pipelines. We perform microtunnelling with diameters ranging from 800 mm to 4,000 mm.

We use closed-front tunnel boring machines to ensure a safe and efficient working environment for our crew. Our tunnel boring machine (TBM) is controlled from our surface control cabin, where the tunnel operator guides the TBM with laser and computer technology, ensuring accuracy within a few centimetres over distances of up to 1,500 m.

Closed Front Tunnelling

The closed front method is the optimal choice when tunnelling in permeable soil types beneath groundwater or in soil with a high stone content. This method is particularly suitable for crossing railways, light rail systems, protected areas, buildings, busy roads, and bridges. We prioritise safety above all else in our work, which is why we have no personnel inside the tunnel boring machine or the tunnel itself, effectively eliminating the risk of workplace accidents during tunnelling operations. We are the only Danish contractor with a centrifuge capable of separating water from the excavated muck. This means that the muck from our tunnelling operations is stackable and cheaper to dispose of, due to its low water content. The centrifuge is also a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution, as we recycle the water within the slurry system
