Transmission and service lines

As the main contractor, we have connected district heating pipes to the distribution network for DIN Forsyning Varme in Esbjerg. The contract included excavation, pipe laying, welding work, guided directional drilling, sheet piling, ground anchoring, groundwater lowering, over-pumping, traffic management and special railway SR management with precision measurements in connection with the crossing of railway infrastructure during a track closure period. Additionally, we carried out road and cycle path reinstatement, including asphalt and paving works and line marking. As part of the district heating pipeline installation, we also replaced gas, electricity, medium-voltage, water, sewer and drainage pipelines, along with associated wells, for DIN Forsyning, Evida, Ørsted and Banedanmark.

Our work was carried out in reinforced sheet-piled trenches or excavation boxes, and the district heating pipes were lifted into place using a crane (from our own crane department), supported by two or three excavators, which provided stabilisation and held the pipes in position.

Special SR management in connection with railway tracks

During the installation of the district heating pipes, we worked during a track closure period while crossing one railway track. The work was carried out through excavation, and to ensure the stability of the existing railway bridge and adjacent tracks, we installed 100 m of supporting sheet piling. Since certain parts of our work on the railway infrastructure took place during the track closure period, a very strict and detailed schedule was required, which was also backed up by contingency plans. Our railway works also required specialised SR management, a competence that M.J. Eriksson possesses in-house.
