M.J. Eriksson strengthens the organisation for future growth

New CEO

M.J. Eriksson, one of Denmark’s largest earthworks and civil engineering contractors, has appointed Torben Bloch Nielsen as the new CEO, effective 1 October 2024. This decision is part of adapting the organisation to the significant growth the company has experienced and continues to anticipate. The current CEO, Stig Munch-Jensen, will continue in a newly created role as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

M.J. Eriksson, a family-owned company spanning multiple generations, has seen significant growth in recent years and reached a revenue of approximately DKK 3 billion in 2023. With headquarters in Ishøj, M.J. Eriksson undertakes civil engineering projects across Denmark and southern Sweden and employs more than 650 people.

“We have always taken pride in being a small and efficient organisation, but we have now decided to expand and strengthen our management team to support the significant growth we are experiencing,” says Jørgen Eriksson, Chairman of the Board at M.J. Eriksson. “We are therefore very pleased to welcome Torben Bloch Nielsen to M.J. Eriksson. With his experience and values, we are confident that he, together with the rest of the management team, will contribute to strengthening our position and continuing our positive development. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Stig Munch-Jensen for his significant efforts over the past 15 years, during which he has played a key role in laying the foundation for our growth – a development he will continue to contribute to as COO.”

Industry experience

Torben Bloch Nielsen brings extensive industry experience, most recently as interim CEO at Scandi Byg A/S. Prior to this, he has served as CEO of Torntoft & Mortensen A/S and Spæncom A/S and has held senior positions at MT Højgaard A/S. With a background as a civil engineer, Torben Bloch Nielsen has a solid technical foundation, and his experience as a construction manager and project manager has given him a deep understanding of the technical aspects of construction and civil engineering projects, which he applies in his leadership role.
