Largest construction project for the Danish Armed Forces

In a joint venture with 5E Byg, we carried out the main contract for the construction of F-35 Campus Skrydstrup, the largest construction project ever undertaken by the Danish Armed Forces.

This extensive and complex project included the construction of facilities for Denmark’s new F-35 fighter jets, as well as spaces for training, technical areas, storage, workshops, welfare facilities and offices, covering a total floor area of 25,000 m².

We also completed the site preparation, including all earthworks, drainage, paving and infrastructure, as well as the structural construction of hangars for the new fighter jets.

New hangars

We were responsible for the complete construction of new lightweight hangars for the parking and maintenance of 21 fighter jets, including workshop spaces, technical rooms, storage facilities, docks and offices, with a total floor area of 16,000 m².

As part of our contract, we also established:

– Taxiways and aircraft aprons, including road foundation construction, drainage and the installation of over 300 taxiway lights, including cabling and control systems.
– Washing facilities and parking areas.
– 45,000 m² of noise barriers with missile shielding.
– Utility pipelines, security systems and 116,000 m² of green areas.

300,000 m³ of infrastructure and paving works

On a 6,200 m² high-load area, we further reinforced the ground with a 30 cm thick HBM (hydraulically bound mixture).

We completed all concrete works, including precast element installation and façade works. The entire building complex covers 46,000 m², with 300,000 m³ of noise-reducing structures and supporting infrastructure.

Our JV partner, 5E Byg, was responsible for all internal and external finishing works of the buildings.
We also:

– Installed nearly 50 km of sewage, drainage and utility pipelines.
– Constructed cooling systems and routed essential piping to the buildings.
